“Everything is GUCCI” -Well Young Thug, may have made this term popular, but nowadays these words take on a literal meaning. We can’t stop swooning over the fashion that has come out recently from the Italian brand.. and if you haven’t noticed, every celebrity has been spotted wearing pieces from the line. We are loving the competition amongst luxury fashion designers that has clearly pushed creative directors to keep their brands fresh and current. Gucci has been influential for years, but lost its flair in the early 2000’s producing flat designs, until now!
Italian fashion designer Alessandro Michele was appointed creative director of Gucci in January 2015 and is responsible for its collections and global brand image. In an interview with VOGUE he said “I am trying to cause a little revolution inside the company to push another language, a different way to talk about beauty and sexiness, which is an old word, its all about sensuality now”.
Keeping in suit with this objective it only makes sense for the luxury house to bridge the cultural gap and appoint more models of color on the runway. Gucci’s pre-fall 2017 campaign which will be revealed fully in April (we can’t wait) seemingly will shed more light on black models exclusively.
